WOLF Coordinator (2 positions)

Description:

The WOLF coordinators, under the supervision of the Office of the Dean of students, plan, coordinate, oversee and evaluate the academic and student life portions of the Woodsworth Orientation Week. They do this working closely with the WCSA Vice President of Social Affairs, two Orientation Coordinators (OC’s), and the Office of the Dean of Students. The primary purpose of WOLF (Woodsworth Orientation for Life After Frosh) is to help acclimatize incoming students to university life. It gives them the opportunity to meet with their peers in a friendly environment and engages them through a series of social and academic activities.

The primary purpose of Orientation week is to help acclimatize incoming students to University life. It gives them the opportunity to meet with their peers in a friendly environment and engages them through a series of social and academic activities. The WOLF Coordinators will be responsible for planning and implementing programming for WOLF aspects of Orientation, which will be integrated into the schedule for Orientation Week. This programming will encompass all aspects of student life including, but not limited to, academic success, campus life and involvement, and health and wellness information.

It is imperative that the WOLF Coordinators work closely and collaboratively with the OCs and WCSA. As representatives of the Office of the Dean of Students, it is expected that their conduct will serve as a role model for other students.

Remuneration:

The WOLF Coordinator position is a part-time, casual position. Much of the preparatory work can be done on a flexible schedule. The rate of pay will be $13.00 per hour, paid by the Office of the Dean of Students.

We anticipate that this position will encompass 155 total hours (per WOLF Coordinator) over the employment period. Specific breakdown of hours will be determined in conjunction with the Dean’s Office staff.  More hours will be expected during the month of August, and WOLF Coordinators are expected to be present throughout Orientation Week 2015 (the first week of September). A small number of hours should be allocated after Orientation Week in order to assemble the WOLF programming report.

To Apply:

Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter outlining their ideas for WOLF programming to dean.woodsworth@utoronto.ca by Friday, February 6th at 5:00pm.
